HEWI LifeSystem honoured with German Innovation Award 2021
The LifeSystem barrier-free sanitary system from HEWI has been awarded the "German Innovation Award - Winner 2021" in the "Heating and Bathroom" category.
The prize that makes innovation visible: The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions across all sectors that stand out through their design, but above all through their user orientation and added value compared to previous solutions. It makes great achievements visible to a wide audience - innovations that shape the future and improve lives.
LifeSystem - the professional system for nursing care
LifeSystem puts people at the centre. The system can be used independently of physical requirements. Products that can be used flexibly promote people's independence. The products can be adapted to the user's body dimensions and have been developed according to ergonomic and kinaesthetic aspects.
Well thought-out product details offer safe and comfortable use. Together, the individual products create an intelligent and aesthetically designed system. The redesign offers new interfaces and enhanced functions, thus supporting caregivers in their daily work.
The competition
The jury is made up of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, academia, institutions and finance. The evaluation was based on the criteria of innovation level, user benefit and economic efficiency and takes into account aspects such as social and ecological sustainability, durability, quality and functionality.
The coveted prize was established by the German Bundestag. The competition is organised by the German Design Council. Since 1953, the competitions of the German Design Council have been honouring design, brand and innovation achievements of international standing.
