HEWI LifeSystem honored with German Innovation Award 2021

The LifeSystem barrier-free sanitary system from HEWI has been awarded the "German Innovation Award - Winner 2021" in the "Heating and Bathroom" category.

The prize that makes innovation visible: The German Innovation Award honors cross-sector products and solutions that stand out for their design, but above all for their user orientation and added value compared to previous solutions. It makes great achievements visible to a broad audience - innovations that shape the future and improve lives.

LifeSystem - the professional system for nursing care

LifeSystem puts people at the center. The system can be used regardless of physical requirements. Products that can be used flexibly promote people's independence. The products are adaptable to the user's body dimensions and have been developed according to ergonomic and kinesthetic aspects.

Well thought-out product details provide safe and comfortable use. Together, the individual products create an intelligent and aesthetically designed system. The redesign offers new interfaces and enhanced functions, thus supporting nursing staff in their daily work.

The competition

The jury is made up of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, academia, institutions and finance. The evaluation was based on the criteria of level of innovation, user benefits and economic efficiency, and took into account aspects such as social and ecological sustainability, durability, quality and functionality.

The coveted prize was established by the German Bundestag. The competition is organized by the German Design Council. Since 1953, the German Design Council's competitions have honored design, brand and innovation achievements of international standing.
