HEWI wins the bdia ausgesucht! 2024 award for the magnetic shower head holder
HEWI sets standards in the field of universal design and was recently honoured with the bdia ausgesucht! 2024 award. The innovative magnetic shower head holder impressed both the jury and the audience and was awarded first place in the “Inclusion” category. This prestigious award recognises HEWI’s efforts to combine functionality, aesthetics and accessibility in one product.
Jury statement on the award-winning magnetic shower head holder
The jury explained its decision as follows:
”The HEWI magnetic shower holder impresses with its innovative magnetic principle, which enables intuitive one-handed operation and without strain in the interests of universal design for everyone. The jury was particularly impressed by how this product increases showering comfort for people with limited mobility and thus makes a valuable contribution to inclusion: stand-out features are the easy height adjustment thanks to the sliding of the shower head holder, the infinitely rotatable cone-shaped holder, and the omission of the widely used buttons and knobs. The timeless design and simple yet solid handling make the product a well thought-through solution that elegantly combines functionality, aesthetics and accessibility."
HEWI magnetic shower head holder – a new feeling of comfort
The innovative HEWI magnetic shower head holder is much easier to use and, in terms of universal design, is an ideal product for everyone and especially for users with physical disabilities. It features simple and easy height adjustment thanks to a magnetic function that allows for sliding of the shower head holder, an intuitive one-hand operation, an infinitely rotatable cone-shaped holder, and the omission of the widely used buttons and knobs. This means that the shower head holder can be used without effort and even by those with motor limitations. Wet hands are no longer a concern during use because the traditional clamping mechanism has been replaced by the innovative magnetic system, thereby eliminating the need to apply pressure when adjusting the shower head holder.
The bdia ausgesucht! 2024 award
With the bdia ausgesucht! competition, the Association of German Interior Architects (bdia) offers its members an exclusive platform on which to present innovative and sustainable products. In 2024, 52 entries were submitted by 33 members, which were assessed by a high-calibre panel in a jury session. In addition to the jury’s assessment, an online vote was also held in which design and architecture fans could vote for their favourites.
